Edward M. Turfe is a litigation and liability expert with a special focus on personal injury and insurance defense. Prior to the formation of Turfe Law, PLLC, he was a shareholder in a large, regional litigation firm, and served on the firm's Hiring and Diversity Committees. Ed's strong litigation background has allowed him to handle matters, beginning with scene investigation and the claims stage, going through trial, post-trial motions and appeals. By way of example, he was lead counsel on Allison v. A.E.W. Capital Management, a landmark decision dealing with residential real estate liability. He has expertise in a variety of areas, including general civil litigation, complex civil litigation, class action litigation, residential real estate liability, fire loss and subrogation, constitutional law, civil rights, defamation and First Amendment law, consumer protection law, employment litigation, dram shop litigation, legal malpractice, automobile negligence, products liability, construction law, toxic tort litigation, commercial litigation and trucking and transportation liability litigation. He continues to represent clients with diverse backgrounds and goals, ranging from several, large, multi-national insurance companies, to individuals and local business owners. Ed is a graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He has been licensed to practice since 1996, and he has been published in the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Law Review as well as issues of the American Bar Association's Tort and Insurance Practice Journal.
